Friday Fuss

It's Friday Fuss time again!
Were you waiting? Has it been building up? Ok, you asked for it!
Now, in case you missed last week's Friday post, this is a meme that allows you to bitch and moan about things you hate. Come on, you know you can do it...

This week's Friday Fuss:

1. I STILL hate waiting for prizes.

2. I hate when I neglect projects.

3. I hate to wear pink.

4. I hate when the postman leaves my packages at the end of the driveway.

5. I hate cold feet.

6. I hate when my husband leaves his shoes in the dark hallway for me to trip over.

7. I hate having the urge for Frosted Flakes cereal, only to find out we ran out of milk.

8. I hate that I watch the Disney Channel more than big people channels-and I like it.

9. I hate it when the certain commercial song that I hate gets stuck in my head all day.

10. I hate that it's my birthday next week and I'm going to have to lie about my age-again. ;)

Ok, now it's your turn!
Post about it and add your name to Mr. Linky-please let readers know where you got it from!

The View

Ok, I don't know if you've been watching The View, but I have! This week's been so exciting. Yesterday, Jordan E. Goodman was on the show. He told us more about the Sweeping Credit Card Reform Act that took effect yesterday. We learned about how to really protect ourselves, and he also discussed his book 'Manage Your Debt'.
Making you want to watch it? You can still catch the full episodes of The View by going to their website! I am so excited about today's show- this should be very interesting!
Thursday, February 25th - a one-hour show themed "Trying to Have a Baby?" and will feature the stars of the Style Network's Bill and Giuliana Rancic to discuss their infertility struggles. I love them! There are so many couples who are in this same situation and it will be fascinating to hear from them, and hopefully learn from them. Infertile audience members will also be sharing their experiences.
Friday, February 26th - A great way to wind down the week! A couple (no pun intended!) of my favorite people will be on The View. Regis and Joy Philbin will be performing a song from their new CD.
Tune in next week to find out what exciting topics are coming to The View!
I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for ABC Daytime and will receive a tote bag or other The View branded items to facilitate my review

Organic Pesticide Review and Give-a-way

I was contacted last week by the nice people from EcoSmart to do a review. I thought this was great timing, since Spring is right around the corner and you know what that means-bugs.

I spend alot of time in our rec room which is in our basement. This means that I stand the chance of running into my least favorite thing-spiders. I really hate them, but I really hate bug sprays too. I don't like spraying chemicals that are harmful to us, but I never thought about using something that was organic. So, when EcoSmart told me about their organic pesticide, I wanted to try it.

Not only is it made from organic plant oils, it leaves no residue. What more could you want from pest control at home?

This product does not have the odors that other pesticides have and it kills and repels over 100 home invading pests: Ants (including Carpenter, Red Harvester, Pavement and Argentine), Beetles, Centipedes, Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwigs, Fleas, Millipedes, Pantry Pests, Pillbugs, Silverfish, Spiders, Sowbugs, Ticks and other crawling insect pests.

I'm trying this out on our fleas that probably will be visiting us soon!

Do you have pests that YOU want to get rid of?

Would you like a chance to try this for free?

Of course you would!

Win it:

EcoSmart is giving away a bottle of Home Pest Control for one lucky reader to win!

Rules:

1. You must go visit EcoSmart and then come back and tell me what other organic product you would consider trying.

2. Leave a way to get a hold you in the comments section.

Extra entries (one comment per extra entry)

3. Twitter about it and then comment with twitter link.

4. Follow my on my NetWork Blog widget.

5. Follow me on Facebook.

Two comment entries:

6. Blog about it and send me the link.

Contest ends:

March 9th.

Winner will be chosen by random and notified March 10th.

Conversations with a five-year-old.

Conversations with a five-year-old.

Emily: "Mom, Daddy is looking at the girls on tv in ma-kinis!"

Me: "It's b-ikinis, hon."

Emily: (giggling) "Butt-kinis?"

Me: "No, B-ikinis."

Emily: "Butt-kinis! Butt-kinis!" (followed by dancing)

Me: (sigh) "Where's your father at?"

-----

While shopping...

Emily: "Does this diary have a lock on it?"

Me: "It looks like it."

Emily: "Good. I want to get this one then."

Me: "Why?"

Emily: "So, I can write about how much I love my boyfriend and Daddy can't read it."

Me: "And we're not even to your teenage years."

-----

While checking out at Walgreens...

Emily (to cashier):" When I grow up, I want to be a painter like my mommy."

Cashier: "How wonderful! Does she paint houses or pictures?"

Emily: "Pictures!"

Cashier: "How neat!"

Me: "Good thing I'm not a stripper."

Cashier: (nervous laugh) "Right."

------

While shopping, once again...

Emily: "Grandma doesn't love me."

Me: "Why do you think that?"

Emily: "Because she didn't buy me a candy bar."

Me: "That doesn't mean she doesn't love you. Besides, I just bought you three toys."

Emily: "But, you didn't buy me a CANDY BAR!"

Me: "I really need to teach you the value of love before you start dating."

Friday Fuss

I know that there are alot of memes out there and I know you are probably thinking, great- not ANOTHER one.
Yes. Yes, it's another one.
I want to introduce you toooooooooooooo......
Friday Fuss
This meme allows you to bitch and moan about everything you hate. Are you thinking that this is a negative thing? Well, I suppose it could be. But, I would like to think of it as more of a get-it-off-your-chest thing. You'll feel better. You won't have the urge to go postal anymore. You might even feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Hey, anythings possible.
Anyway, here are a couple (or more) things I hate:

I hate that there are two pop tarts to a package, so you have to eat both, when you probably shouldn't have even eaten the first one.

I hate it when you win a contest, only to wait, and wait, and wait to get your prize. (I'm STILL waiting on three prizes)

I hate cold toilet seats.

I hate waiting for my book to be in the bookstores!

I hate Mondays.

I hate forgetting to pick up cinnamon rolls and not realizing it until Sunday morning.

I hate not being able to drink ice coffees anymore.

I hate wearing blue.

I hate tax time.

I hate that I watched an espisode of Real Housewives of Orange County, and I am now hooked on it. (Argh)

I hate that it snows every time I plan on going out.

I hate having to end this.

Now, it's your turn. Post your link under my comments. (please link back to me!) Then, come back here next Friday and I will try to have Mr. Linky set up and we can have some fun with this.

Lazy days.

I'm on my fifth day of being laid up- I think I feel my best today. I think that whatever it was, it's almost gone, so I'm going to put off that doctor visit.

One good thing to come of being bed ridden, is I've been able to get stuff done I've been putting off.

Like, I had a chance to work on my dog artwork for some dog rescue places.

It has also allowed me to be able to catch up on shows that I taped weeks ago and watch dvd movies that need to go back to NetFlix.

I've also been able to get my product reviews done.

And catch up on my reading.

And writing.

I'm thinking that I like being laid up-maybe I don't feel that great yet.

I might need one more day.

Do you watch The View?

First of all, I need to give many thanks to everyone that wrote and expressed their concern over my hurt side. I have decided that if it doesn't completely go away by Wednesday, I'm going in. Maybe I'll have to be dragged, but I'll go.

Now, off to something fun!

I have been chosen by Mom Central and ABC Daytime Producers to be a Brand Ambassador for The View!
I love The View! I've been watching it for as long as I can remember, enjoying the fighting, the passion, and the great topics that they cover. How fun will it be to be able to get the insider scoop on what they will be talking about next!

As an Ambassador, I will let you know weekly about upcoming guests/storylines for The View Won't that be exciting? This program will last four weeks, but hopefully they will decide to keep some of us on. I would love to make this a permanent weekly post-wouldn't you?

Now, if you love this show too, then you need to get your butt over to Mom Central, because The View is holding a sweepstakes! One lucky winner will be randomly selected to receive a trip to New York City to watch a taping of The View The sweepstakes is open until February 28th. Here is a link to the sign-up survey for this sweepstakes: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22A5X7KF2CZ

Tune in next week to find out what news I have about this awesome show!

Eye opening moment.

Our weekends seemed to never be boring. This weekend was no exception. My Saturday began with me waking up to a bad pain in my lower right side. I wasn't sure what it was and of course, my first thought was appendicitis. I also thought that maybe it might be a pulled muscle from over exercising. Regardless, I couldn't walk because the pain was so bad. I laid down all day and by the next morning, it seemed better, so I decided to go out shopping. NOT A GOOD IDEA. I was in pain again by that night.

While I was laying down (What? You thought I might go to the hospital by now? You silly goose.) Bella, our dog, was laying next to me. She got up and went around the corner and out of my site. I didn't think anything about it, until she came back five minutes later, and started falling down everytime she tried to walk. I jumped up (yes, that hurt) and tried to figure out what was wrong with her. I was totally freaking out, because she started flopping around like a fish out of water. She was banging into things and kept banging her head into everything. I thought that maybe she ate something and had poisoned herself. I thought she was dying and there was nothing I could do.

Now, up until this very moment, I basically considered Bella a nuisance, and couldn't wait until she could go back with her mama (Jess). Seeing her in pain and wondering if we were going to lose her made me realize just how much I loved that booger. How I would miss her if she was gone! I forgot all about my pain in my side and did what I could to try to see what the heck was wrong with her.

I called my husband who was at work and told him about it. He said to calm her down and try to get her to a hospital. At this point, she started to claw at her mouth, so I thought that maybe she had something stuck in her throat. She was still able to breathe, so I thought maybe there was just enough opening to allow air in. I called my daughter to come over so she could take her to the animal hospital.

While Jess was getting ready, Bella started getting better. She could walk now, and she wasn't flopping around anymore. Then, she was able to drink her water and eat some food, so I thought that if there had been something lodged in there, it might of passed. By the time my daughter called me back, Bella seemed fine again.

I tell ya, sometimes you don't realize how much you treasure something until you are put in a situation where you might lose it. Bella was definately spoiled for the rest of the night with hugs and kisses. This morning she seems fine still. We may never know what happened to her, but at least she's alive and at my feet right now.

My pain on the other hand is still here. Will I miss it when it is gone? Not likely.

Happy Birthday, Jessica

So, it's finally the big day. Today, you turn twenty. The big 2-0. You are now officially in your twenties. No more being called a teenager. YOU ARE OLD. Okay, not really. I bet you feel old, though. When you are forty, I'll have to remind you how you felt so old at twenty.

You know that you've made me earn every gray hair I have, and I'm going to start sending you the bill for my hair coloring, because it's getting pretty expensive.
Though, I'm starting to mellow out over the years with dealing with your crisis after crisis. Being the oldest has paved the way for your brother and sister and thanks to you, Emily will not get a car til she's twenty and not date til she's thirty. Heck, she's NEVER leaving the house.
I can't complain too much. You did give me the best grandbaby ever, even though he can be a bit ornery.
I know that you've been through alot upon having Zach, but the right guy will come someday to love the both of you more than anything. (Just stop settling for any losers along the way!)

I hope you enjoy being twenty. It's a great age and just have fun with it.

Happy Birthday!
Love, your Mama.

Super Bowl Sunday

I don't know if you celebrate the Super Bowl, but we do.
We watch it on the big TV.

We eat.

We make fun when we get bored.

We stare at the game, anticipating who will win.

We eat some more.

We watch the funny commercials.

We eat some more.

Then it's all over, and the next day I get this out.

Living doll.

One of the hazards of having a five-year-old aunt...
She wants to dress you up as a princess, even though you are a boy.

They always come back

I'm still here after a busy weekend. I am still working on my projects, but I did get my daughter's blog up for her. You can find it here. Please be a friend and follow her and maybe say "hi" to her. She's been through alot in the last couple of years . She still is going through alot, still dealing with the ex. As a matter of fact, the $%& called us this weekend, trying to make me believe a bunch of lies about her. You see, she had full custody and he has no rights to their child. I would not EVER trust him alone with Zach, and I would do everything possible to help stop him from having visitation rights.
She doesn't need to deal with him on top of losing her job recently and now she's out of savings and isn't able to pay her bills. We decided that she should just move back home until she gets back on her feet. This way, if that good-for-nothing tries to show up, he's going to have to go through me. I may only be five feet tall, but I pack a mean punch.
