MIA? Friday Favorites

Was I missing in action yesterday? Kind of. No, we didn't get the Words with a Blogger up, but our blogger will be ready next Wednesday for sure. So, please forgive me by reading about my Friday pick today.
Today's Friday Favorite is such a cool shop that you won't want to miss visiting.
Do you like pottery? I do. Especially, very simple but beautiful designs.
When I found Jill Rosenwald's store, I was all "ooh" and "ahhh" about her designs.

She works in a downtown Boston studio with her husband.
Her pottery is elegant and beautiful and everyone should own a piece. Here are a few examples.

You can see a full featured interview done by Etsy here.

Go read it and then you better go visit her shop and get you one.

Friday Favorites!

Today I'm going to let you know about this beautiful site called,

http://www.anthropologie.com

If you are a reader of the Pioneer Woman, you've already read about this site today. They have the best taste in products ever! If I won the lottery, I would decorate my whole house with their products. They have beautiful cooking tools too and that's what PW is giving away today! She is giving away these awesome measuring cups!

I am posting the photos from Pioneer's site, so I hope she doesn't mind but they were way better than the site's photos.

If you don't like these, you can choose a set of these instead:

Matryoshka set

Geese set

So go to her site and try to win a set for your home-hurry, it ends tonight!

Afterwards, go back to Anthropologie's site and while you are there, please check out the rest of the "for your home" section. Like I've said before, I'm a sucker for any site that has home decor stuff!

Go get you some new stuff today!

Friday Favorites!

I hope everyone is liking my Friday favs because I am and since I'm the boss of my blog...
I was browsing the Mom Made It website and came across this store and thought, How neat!

It's called:

(It's an Etsy shop!)

This is a "mommy owned" business that "mommies" will love!

This idea came from this mom wanting to find a way to store her children's art projects. Being a Graphic Designer by trade, she came up with a solution.
She can preserve the beauty of your child's artwork by photographing it and creating an archival quality Kodak photographic collage at 12" x 12"-making it perfect for framing or your scrapbook.
Check these samples out!

These are so cool and you're going to say, "Why didn't I think of that?"
So, get your child's artwork together and head on over to her site and get you one!
(Be sure to come back this weekend because I'm going to start a Saturday Shopping post which will include product reviews that will also be posted on my review site too!)

It's Friday Favorites!
Do you like glass things? I do! I don't get to have too many glass objects because they tend to get broken.

When I saw these Etsy items...

You can hang these on your computer monitor!

I thought, wow! These are cool and they hang up on things so maybe they would survive in my house.
These are glass mobiles (mini and large) and they can be found here:

Leah Pellegrini is a yoga enthusiast and glass artist. She states on her profile page that she loves mobiles and she surrounds herself with her glass mobiles while doing yoga. (she also has some cute glass yoga statues too)

If you want to know more about her, she has a blog too at:

http://www.leahglass.blogspot.com/

She has give-aways and lots of great information on it.

So, add some shine to your life and buy a glass mobile, hang it on your bedroom window and you'll wake up happy every day-really. ;)

After a very long day of being at the doctor,(yes, I ended up taking her) finding out that Emily has bronchitis and then waiting an hour for her medicine to be ready, I wanted to get home and find a favorite shop for my readers.

I was looking for something unique and fun. Something that you would really want to buy and love more than your first teddy bear.

Then I found this shop:

Little Leg Warmers.Etsy.com

This quilts are to die for! I admit that I'm not really a "quilt" kind of person. I find the mismatched patterns too much, but when I saw these, I was in love. The patterns are just the right taste and go together beautifully.

I have to say it, THESE ARE DELICIOUS!!

I am sure that you could find a spot for any of these and they are so fun looking that you won't be able to resist checking into getting one of these for your home.

This designer creates one-of-a-kind quilts which means nobody else will have your quilt-ever. She even has a blog at:

http://www.littlebrooke.blogspot.com/

So, splurge today and visit her store and get you one!

Back to Etsy, I love Paris and when I came across this store I was in love!
Then, I found out that this lady is the illustrator of Lu-lu™.
Here is Anne Keenan Higgin's Shop:

These pictures would be a perfect addition to any room!

The best part is they are only $10.00 a piece!

I could see this in my kitchen.

This one in my youngest daughter's room...

Spend a day in "Paris" and go visit her shop and buy you some!

Friday Favorites!

This won't be an Etsy shop today.

I wanted to let you know about a site that can help you.

This site is packed full of info on working at home and help for those that already work at home.

This site is actually an online magazine for working at home.

What site is this?

www.MommysBizatHome.com

How did I find this site? Well, because I am the editor of it!

I started this online magazine for anyone that wants to work at home in 2003. I even wrote a book based off of it called, I'm a Work at home Mommy-You can be too!

I wanted to feature this site because I am looking for writers to submit articles and experts in the field of working at home to be guest bloggers. I can't offer pay, but I will include bylines and links to your site.

I am also looking for anyone who owns ANY kind of business to be my next Featured Business of the week. A free service and a favorite amongst business owners!

So, please go visit this online magazine and maybe learn something about working at home!

Thanks!

As you know from my other post, I want new pillows. I decided to look at Etsy for ideas and came across this wonderful shop named:
This owner was inspired one day to start making pillows and she has came up with some wonderful designs.
I simply love these pillows.
These are cute too!

She also happens to design purses and bean bags ("eggplants" (are they a fruit or vegetable?)photo are actually bean bags).
She donates 10% to two of her favorite charities, so your purchase will go to a good cause!
So, if you are looking for some new pillows or a new look, check out her shop!

Friday Favorites

I'm pleading temporary insanity and now I'm better today. Probably because it's Friday and I need a Friday Favorite!
This find is a fun one and it would brighten anyone's day.
(it's from Etsy too.)

This store makes cupcakes in a jar-What an awesome idea!

The story on how this began is very interesting, so I just took the owner's description from their site so you can read it for yourself.

(quoted from her site)

"****Who I Am And How It All Started***I am a proud mama of two beautiful boys, and an adorable baby girl, and wife to a wonderful husband (I made him a Fat Daddy LOL!). I have been baking since I've been walking and after years of hearing "you should sell this stuff, its delicious!!" I have finally decided to share my love for baking with others. Deciding on selling my infamous CUPCAKES was a no brainier, they are by far the most amazing things I have ever pulled out of the oven....moist, rich, sweet, delectable, mouthwatering big cups of goodness. I am a true cupcake aficionado. I love everything about cupcakes. I love baking them; I love decorating and packaging them. I love eating them and smelling them. I love giving them as gifts to other people, and I even love things that look like cupcakes.......but how on earth can I ship such a delicate babycake???? Well it finally hit me one day.....CUPCAKES IN A JAR! So after months of trial and error I have finally perfected a unique and functional way of sharing these classic treats...THE ORIGINAL CUPCAKES IN A JAR™"

Yummy! That's the word that comes to my mind.

Want to see some photos? Of course you do!

They have a 6 and 12 month cupcake of the month that would make great gifts and with Valentine's Day coming, I think these would warm anyone's heart. I know mine would get all warm and cozy.

Don't worry about safety either, because they are a fully LICENSED bakery in Illinois.

So, go visit and buy some for someone or for yourself- I would hide them though, because you might have to plead temporary insanity if a family member tries to take one.

Friday Favorites

It's Friday Favorites!

I know I've been steering away from my original plan of featuring Etsy shops and I regret to say that today will be no different-sorry!

I couldn't resist telling you about this neat site:

Fiona, the owner, has the best job in the world!

She designs children's murals that you can put up yourself and they are so beautiful. I was looking for a design to put up in our playroom and stumbled across her site and I love it!
Fiona is a professional mural artist and with the support of her family, she created a way for people to have a mural in their home at the fraction of the cost of hiring a muralist.
Your child (and you) will fall into fantasy land as you stare at these gorgeous designs she creates. There are lots of boy and girl themed murals to choose from like princess themed and jungle themed and they can be used for lots of purposes.

Here are some examples:

So, if you are looking for an idea for a room in your home, try one of these on for size!

At the request of a reader and friend, I am going to showcase my art business this Friday!
Ok, what do I do?
Other then being a photographer, I do pet art too!
(Well, I do a bit of people art too if you ask real nicely.)
Here is my website:

I don't have an Etsy shop yet but I will be opening one soon, so look for it!

Here are some past commissions I've done:

My baby, Mia!

I've been doing pet art for about two years now and it's a strong passion of mine. I mainly do my artwork on the computer and my paintbrushes are my Wacom Tablet/Pen and mouse.

I offer commissioned art pieces on print or gallery wrapped canvas. I also have an "Adoptable" Dog Art Collection of many breeds with a portion of profits going to charities.

My artwork has been featured in articles and people from around the world own a custom artwork of their pet done by little ole me!

So, for you readers letting me be vain for this Friday Favorite, I'm going to hold a contest and you can win an art piece by me!

An 8x10 one panel to be exact.

You can either have a piece done of your pet or child if you'd rather or if you like one from the Adoptable Dog Art Collection, I can use one of the panels of the three and make an 8x10 from it.

How do you enter?

Just leave a comment telling me you love my work (wink, wink) and a way to get a hold of you and I will randomly choose a winner Sunday night.

Now, as I always say, go visit this great find!
